PROVIDING fans with a peek into her married life, Sola Kosoko, a Nollywood actress and film director, opened up in an interview with colleague Biola Bayo about meeting her husband at the age of 20, when he had already completed his tertiary education.
She confessed that she initially had reservations about marrying him due to their differing religions – she is Christian, and he is Muslim. However, her husband persisted and eventually won her over.
Recalling the early days of their relationship, Kosoko shared, “I actually met my husband when I was very young, I was 20 when I met him. He was already a graduate, I think he was writing his final exams in Higher Institution and he spoke to me.”
She added, “My husband was able to stand the test of time. I didn’t have the mind to marry him because he is a Muslim and I am a Christian. We courted for a long time before we got married.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Kosoko also shared her views on divorce, emphasizing the importance of making individual decisions in challenging marital situations. She underscored the significance of prioritizing one’s own well-being, drawing on a popular Yoruba adage to convey her message.
Married to Abiodun Abinna for over a decade, Kosoko, daughter of Jide Kosoko, is a mother to three children – two daughters and a son. Following her 42nd birthday, she joyously announced the arrival of a baby boy and celebrated with an event attended by numerous colleagues, including Yinka Quadri, Toyin Tomato, Jide Kosoko, Bidemi Kosoko, and more.
On their 10th wedding anniversary, Kosoko publicly honored her husband, praising him as a wonderful, courageous, and goal-oriented partner and father. She expressed gratitude for their time together and voiced hopes for many more years of happiness.
