Nollywood contemporary family comedy drama, “Bestie,” is set for release in cinemas nationwide on Dec. 16.
Newsextra24 reports that ace filmmaker Toyin Abraham, who is the producer and director of the film, announced the release date and pre-sale information on her official Instagram page @toyinabraham.
In her recent post, the actress shared a promotional message featuring characters Ngozi and Peter, describing their relationship as one marked by a deep bond and love.
The post reads: “Ngozi and Peter, their bond and love run deep! Let’s wait and see what these two are up to in BESTIE!
“BESTIE in cinemas from 16th December! Pre-sales start 1st November!”
Abraham features in the movie, alongside veteran actors Pete Edochie and Sola Sobowale, among other cast members.
Edochie plays Papa Ngozi, while Sobowale portrays Mama Ngozi. Maurice Sam features as Peter, while Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, plays Suzy Baby.
Other cast members include Reminisce, who plays Kazeem, and Yakubu Mohammed, who portrays Hassan.
Although the post offers a glimpse into the relationship between Ngozi and Peter, the filmmaker is yet to disclose the full storyline of the movie.
The film is expected to explore the relationship between its central characters, but its wider themes and plot details have not been officially explained.
Abraham’s previous cinema release, “Oversabi Aunty,” crossed the one-billion-naira mark at the Nigerian box office, according to industry reports.
“Bestie” is among the Nollywood productions scheduled for the busy December cinema season, as filmmakers seek to attract audiences during the yuletide.
