The Police Service Commission (PSC) has fixed April 28 to 30, 2026, for the written examination of candidates seeking enlistment as police constables.
The examination, which will cover both General Duty and Specialist cadres, is scheduled to take place at designated centres across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
In a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Placid, on Friday, the police said only applicants who successfully passed the earlier physical and credentials screening would be eligible to sit for the examination.
Qualified candidates have been directed to visit the official recruitment portal from April 24 to print their examination invitation cards.
The slip will contain details of each candidate’s date, time and venue.
Applicants are required to present a printed copy of the invitation card, a valid National Identification Number slip issued by the National Identity Management Commission with a clear photograph, and a pen at their respective centres.
The PSC also specified a strict dress code for the exercise, directing candidates to appear in white shorts, white T-shirt and white canvas shoes.
Reiterating its stance on transparency, the commission stressed that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge.
It warned applicants to be wary of fraudsters and job racketeers seeking financial inducements, adding that anyone found engaging in such acts would be prosecuted in line with the law.
