THE Ondo State Football Association has congratulated Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All progressives Congress on his victory at the Nov. 16 Ondo governorship election.
This is contained in a message signed by the Chairman of Ondo State Football Association, Chief Dele Ajayi.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Aiyedatiwa polled 366,781 votes to win the election.
His closest rival, Mr Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), secured 117,835 votes.
Aiyedatiwa was consequently announced the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Ajayi said that Aiyedatiwa’s efforts in discovering and harnessing young sports talents was encouraging and had yielded results.
He lauded the governor for providing good leadership, adding that his efforts in social-economic transformation were commendable.
“On behalf of the board members and the entire members of the football association of the state, I wish to congratulate His Excellency, Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on his victory at the polls.
“This is a testament of people’s love for the governor, we urge him to keep up the good work,” Ajayi said.
