On Needs To Build Our Nigeria

By Idegu Ojonugwa

RECENTLY in Nigeria, we see all angles of the regions with endless and aimless movement of poor in search of something to put inside due to high level of political turmoil in our dear Nigeria. Some of them luckily see what to eat at the end of each of the struggle and some go to bed with empty stomach even after this struggle throughout the day. It is not that they have no sense and efforts to put something on table for themselves and household, but because there is an overview thinking of getting satisfied on political stability. Yes, political stability answers half of the questions. But, our individual efforts answer all the questions. So, in the quest of poor Nigerians looking into the government to eradicate poverty, we do ourselves a long-term evil.

The government has no power to do things successfully without the open and blind support of the citizens. Citizens and their efforts are resources of government. Only when there is total collapse of citizens’ struggles, government can’t do alone. It is therefore a necessity for citizens to employ reasonable scores to help themselves from the so-called democracy forcefully mounted on us with no doctrinal effects.

You always lay complaints on the politicians for their refusal to discharge primary functions of the offices. But, you allow them fly on air, move in a tinted cars with entourage and defend them for secretly collecting something from them. You build securities for them both at homes and offices and supplying them information of all kinds just to keep their devilish enterprises prevailing. Who is now responsible for his or her failure? You hate one another, jealous one another, kill one another for their sake – then, why are you rigorously complaining about them whereas it is very clear of your contributions to the hardships in the nation?

Even as we see how these so-called politicians trade words within few of themselves and on all citizens just to fulfill their desires, we still have some unfortunate Nigerians exchanging brutal words with one another physically and through online mediums because of them. This is the shame of the era and how far some Nigerians have gone to destroy Nigeria. Ironically, few concerned Nigerians risking their lives and households to see Nigeria better are not fully supported by the citizens. This is one of the reasons we still have a failed nation.

Badly, what our youths support and promote are those useless and meaningless things. Our celebrities have no dissimilarity. Hence, our celebrities spend extravagantly on things that have no features for national values just as some of their counterparts in developed and developing countries do. They sponsor and promote things with ineffectual results. All these are challenges for our growths and developments.

We can all see negative impacts resonating upon emergence of our failure to take our government and to standardize our democracy. Just as we are busy complaining, so they are busy embezzling. The only thing left is, if we are not fast enough, we may have to country to defend in nearest future. We must not wait until our country is gone. So, better we have to start working on the government and our democracy before we get sold out with the country. Nigerians have endured so much to see mercies of the leaders, and as nothing is happening, our mercies need to completely fade up.

We may be vulnerable. I bet you that, people of good spirits are stronger than all. We can’t have full weapon to fight them. Natures go ahead of people who are fighting rightly. Because, natural balance is a sole advocacy of natures. If we don’t stand for ourselves and our children now, we may not know how the condition would change our children. God forbid, our children may be turned on us by these politicians or our children would turn on us for not acting. Honestly, if you see how this situation has turned some good people without power to endure hardships for long, we have ourselves blamed for not securing them.

Everyone can see clearly how housewives have turned their husbands into assaulting-pole and to the level of going against matrimonial practices just to save their egos and desires for lack of improper care of husbands due to our economic crises. Though, this is for the unrepentant wives. Everyone can see how our youths have plugged themselves into cybercrimes and notorious groups for survival. This is for the unfaithful youths. We see how men suffer suicidal ideation just for sake of problems arising from not being able to provide for family. These and more are indelible marks the economic crises have left in some of our homes. Imagine, these are challenges that are liable to be tackled easily. Who knows next challenges that could arise as a result of our refusal to handle and hold our government accountable.

Nigerians should take it upon themselves to end stupidity of these leaders who borrow in our names and spend it on themselves. It is widely acclaimed how our political leaders are richer to their counterparts across the globe. Yet, they are not ready to spend little on the citizens whose mandates they occupied to live luxurious lives. They only know how to spend money every four years. Unfortunately, their money is spent on the middle-class Nigerians and not the poor masses who always fight for them to be elected. These leaders wouldn’t get tired until there is no country. Should we allow that happen and we become refugees in our dear Nigeria? Then, better we marry to what happened in the countries whose citizens fought for regain of internal colonization and slavery under their leaders. It would work again in Nigeria. Happily, Nigerians are gifted and talented with knowledge to make that happen. So, let us apply necessary knowledge to liberate us from these wicked political leaders.

To do ourselves good, we must do away with all-time prayers. Prayers only maintain things. Note; we haven’t gotten anything. What are we praying for? Our political leaders have brainwashed majority Nigerians into prayers by given cooked testimonies just to divert attention of poor masses to where doesn’t matter most. The leaders have refused to document struggles and steps to their successes. And, some of the citizens thought all they got is by miracles. That’s a bigger lie. On this, I solely advise that, we begun to take some responsibilities ourselves to safe our nation. We need to fight people who are not willing to see us happy. We fight them that want us divided. We fight them that embezzle our money. We fight them that are preaching to us things that don’t matter and work. Until we begin these, we are not ready to go out of the cage.

Especially now that the three arms of government have compromised to end lives of Nigerians so they and their households can inherit Nigeria; and they have bought all NGOs to help them carry out their plans – so, our lives are placed within our reach. Henceforth, whatever we do is solely for our takes. We can now see many reasons we should collaborate to help ourselves getting the country back. No one should fool you that they are working on things to make us smiles shortly. Everything has been at their disposal to help shape our lives for better since. Better we forget them with arithmetic sequence not having effects on our national indexes. Nigerians should rise and work now, please.
