Gov. Muhammed Bago of Niger, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing support to farmers in the state.
A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Bologi Ibrahim, issued to newsmen on Sunday in Minna, indicated that the governor made the commitment during his visit to Doyin Farms, a private farm on Lemu Road in the state.
Newsextra24 reports that the farm comprised 500,000 capacity fish pond, 8,000 cocoa trees and Banana plants and 3,000 palm trees, with a workforce of about 50 men and women.
Ibrahim said that the governor expressed delight with the initiative of the farmer and his contributions to job creation in state and the country at large.
According to him, the farmer’s initiative reflected the agricultural transformation agenda of his administration.
He, therefore, reassured of his administration’s continuous collaboration with the private public sector, in a bid to to drive agricultural revolution in the state.
Earlier, Bago had a stopped over at his own farm in Bida, for an inspection and to appreciate the staff and management team for their hard work.
The governor also appreciated them for their diligence and tireless efforts in contributing to food security in Niger in particular and Nigeria as a nation.
