This is the latest of many clashes between Mr Chidi Odinkalu and Governor Nasir El-Rufai and it has previously escalated to the point that lawsuits were initiated between the two men. The latest clash comes as Governor El-Rufai has vowed to right-size the Kaduna Public Service by sacking some workers, while the Nigerian Labour Congress has staged protests and other actions to prevent the government from sacking the workers.
Chidi Odinkalu @ChidiOdinkalu
In Kaduna State today:
Public schools are closed
Filling stations (for petrol) are shut
Public hospitals closed
Govt offices shut
There is no electricity, no water
Kaduna State University has sent its students home
@elrufai is the man with the #rightsize
KADUNA UPDATE: @ChidiOdinkalu – chartered & certified fake news merchant, false professor & wanted for incitement, injurious falsehood, etc by Kaduna High Court is lying again: (1) all schools (2) most filling stations & (3) public hospitals operating by noon. You are cursed!
The #VileLittleMan of Kaduna, @elrufai, Ayuba Wabba, President of @nlcng is on his way to your office. Prove to the world you are not a coward pls – abduct him!
This #VileLittleMan, @elrufai, plays cowardly god. @nlcng president addressed rallies in Kaduna ystday. Now, @elrufai claims he’s wanted. 1st, courts arn’t sitting but that doesn’t stop the Governor who likes to abduct ppl. 2nd, governors lack powers to declare ppl wanted. Fact!
But the #VileLittleMan is also a #VenalOutlaw. He does not care for basic rules. He owns Kaduna State. This #VileLittleMan running 46,100km² of #Nigeria thinks he can stop @nlcnig from protesting. Think what tyrannicall mess he’d create if he were to run the entire 923,768 km²?!
