In a bizarre turn of events, Soldiers attached to a military barrack close to Sabo, Yaba have reportedly shot dead a police officer who is a task force official for seizing a fellow Soldier’s motorcycle, popularly known as Okada.
The Police Officer, in the company of his fellow task force officials, was said to have seized the yet to be identified Soldier’s bike at Yaba in accordance with the Lagos State law that prohibits bike operators from plying certain routes.
The Soldier, reportedly in uniform, went back to the barracks and returned with his fellow soldiers who attacked the task force officials and shot one of them as others fled for their lives.
According to an eyewitness who sells toiletries at Yaba Bus stop, the task force officials accosted the Soldier who was in uniform for plying his motorcycle against the law and after altercation forcefully seized the bike from the officer. The Soldier was said to have gone to his base and returned with other soldiers who attacked the task force officials leading to the death of one of them.

The situation has caused traffic along the Yaba – Oyinbo route as the body of the task force official lays on the road while soldiers at the scene say that they do not want to see the task force personnel again in the area.
