Atiku’s son, Adamu picks ADC form for Adamawa south Senatorial Bid

Adamu Atiku, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has formally joined the race for the Adamawa South Senatorial seat after purchasing the Expression of Interest and Nomination Form of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Adamu, a former commissioner in Adamawa State, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday, saying his decision followed months of consultations with stakeholders, supporters, and constituents across the senatorial district.

The politician explained that he took time to reflect before deciding to contest, despite growing calls from supporters urging him to enter the race.

According to him, the encouragement and confidence shown by people in the district influenced his decision to seek elective office.

“After months of wide consultations, sincere reflections, and encouragement from constituents, stakeholders, supporters, and well-meaning citizens across Adamawa South, I have decided to answer the call to serve and formally join the race for the Adamawa South Senatorial seat,” he said.

“This decision did not come lightly. I chose to remain silent in the face of the growing calls and appeals from constituents and supporters across Adamawa South while I devoted time to consultations and careful reflection.”

Adamu said the demand for what he described as “purposeful, experienced, and people-oriented representation” convinced him to take the step.

“The overwhelming confidence reposed in me and the consistent demand for purposeful, experienced, and people-oriented representation have been truly humbling,” he added.

He noted that obtaining the ADC nomination form marked the beginning of his political journey toward representing the people of Adamawa South in the Senate.

According to him, “Obtaining the nomination form on Thursday marks the formal beginning of this journey and my commitment to offering myself for service to the good people of Adamawa South.”

The senatorial hopeful further described his ambition as a collective movement driven by the desire for unity, progress, and quality representation in the district.

“This movement belongs to the people and is driven by our shared desire for purposeful representation, unity, and progress across Adamawa South,” he stated.

“The journey has begun, and with the support of our people, we shall move forward together with unity, purpose, and determination.”
