Maj.-Gen. Olurotimi Awolo, Commander, 4 Special Forces Command, Nigerian Army, Doma, has reaffirmed commitment to improving personnel welfare, infrastructure development, and professionalism to enhancing troops’ operational effectiveness.
Awolo stated this on Monday while inaugurating the newly renovated Headquarters of 4 Special Forces Command Garrison, Doma, Nasarawa State.
He said the renovation was an important milestone in addressing the administrative and infrastructural needs of personnel, particularly the provision of improved office accommodation and conducive working conditions.
The commander maintained that a conducive environment was essential for personnel to effectively perform their constitutional responsibilities and remain professionally responsive.
According to him, the 4 Special Forces Command Garrison has continued to introduce innovative measures to provide facilities that support troops’ administrative and operational activities.
Awolo said that the initiatives were in line with his vision for the command and the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy, which places high premium on troops’ welfare and operational effectiveness.

He commended the Garrison Commander, Brig.-Gen. David Nwakonobi, for prioritising personnel welfare, infrastructure development and judicious utilisation of available resources.
Awolo urged commanders of other formations and units to emulate the initiative by giving greater attention to personnel welfare and the provision of functional infrastructure.
He said the command would continue to support its subordinate formations and units with facilities required to enhance troops’ performance both in the field and within the cantonment.
Awolo urged personnel to properly utilise and maintain the renovated facilities to ensure that they continued to support the effective discharge of the command’s responsibilities.
He also appreciated Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Army Staff, for his strategic guidance and support to the 4 Special Forces Command.
Earlier, Nwakonobi said the renovation represented a significant milestone in efforts to provide a functional and befitting working environment for personnel of the garrison.
He said the project had improved the physical appearance, functionality and overall working conditions at the headquarters.
The garrison commander said the project, which involved structural rehabilitation and facelift of the headquarters complex, was executed through intervention funds from the 4 Special Forces Command.
He said the initiative demonstrated the command’s commitment to personnel welfare, morale and operational effectiveness.
Nwakonobi expressed appreciation to Awolo for his leadership and support toward the development of the garrison while presenting the renovated headquarters for commissioning.
