
‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has grossed N2.2 billion at the West African box office, emerging as the highest-grossing Hollywood film of all time in the region.
FilmOne Entertainment, the distributor, announced the feat on its Instagram page, saying the Marvel blockbuster has maintained the No. 1 position for seven consecutive weekends.
The distributor expressed appreciation to audiences across West Africa for supporting the film, which is still showing in cinemas nationwide.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day is officially the highest-grossing Hollywood film of all time, holding the No. 1 spot for seven consecutive weekends,” the company said.
Newsextra24 reports that the film had earlier surpassed N1.8 billion at the West African box office, becoming the highest-grossing Hollywood film in the region.
Globally, the film has also recorded strong box-office performance, grossing about 2.4 billion dollars and becoming the third-highest-grossing film worldwide, according to recent box-office reports.
