Residents Set Suspected Kidnapper Ablaze In Niger

A suspected kidnapper has been set ablaze in Niger State.

He was accused of abducting two children in Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State.

Newsextra24 learnt that the suspect, whose identity is not yet known, was taking the children to an unknown destination when he was accosted by some residents.

The residents descended on him and beat him to a coma as he could not give any credible answer.

The mob later poured petrol on the lifeless body before setting him ablaze.

A video showed some children participating in the jungle justice.

Abiodun Wasiu, the spokesperson of the State police command, when contacted, confirmed the incident.

He said, “when the police arrived at the scene, the mob had dispersed but they were able to evacuate the burnt body to the hospital; the police will arrest the culprits.”
