The Niger Police Command has arrested a suspect for theft and recovered two stolen cows in Mokwa town.
This is contained in a statement on Sunday in Minna by its Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun.
Abiodun said on Oct. 16, at about 9p.m., intelligence received by Mokwa Division indicated that two cows were sighted in a residence of a 57-year-old in Tungan-Noma, Mokwa, suspected to have been stolen.
“On receipt of the information, the Police surveillance team of the division mobilized to the scene, arrested the suspect and recovered the two cows.
“During interrogation, the suspect confessed that he received the cows for safe-keeping from one Abdullahi Dandamega of Tungan-Noma Village, Mokwa, currently at large.”
According to Abiodun, the owner of the stolen cows had been identified and contacted while efforts were ongoing to apprehend the suspect at large and other accomplices after which the case would be charged to court for prosecution.
