The Delta Police Command has arrested two suspected drug dealers and recovered 132 sachets of 100mg Tramadol.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, said in a statement on Friday in Asaba, that the suspects were apprehended during a stop-and-search operation along the Nnebisi Road, Asaba.

Edafe said the suspects, both aged 54, were arrested by operatives attached to the command’s Operation Delta Shield.

”Our operatives conducting a stop-and-search operation intercepted the suspects’ Toyota Hiace bus with registration number ZBL-549-XA.

”A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 132 sachets of 100mg Tramadol and the arrest of the two suspects,” he said.

He disclosed that the suspects were in police custody while investigation was ongoing.

Edafe quoted the state Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, as commending the operatives for their prompt response.

Oyeniyi urged officers across the command to sustain the momentum through proactive and intelligence-led policing.

The commissioner advised residents to remain vigilant and promptly provide the police with credible information on suspicious persons and activities.

He assured residents that the command would continue to deploy available resources towards the prevention and detection of crime across the state.
