An Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, on Friday remanded a 28-year-old man, Olatunji Alabi, in a Correctional Centre for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl.
The Magistrate, Mrs S.K. Matepo, who did not take the plea of Alabi, ordered that the case file should be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
Mate’s adjourned the case until Sept. 17 for DPP’s advice.
The defendant, whose address was not provided, is facing a two count-charge of abduction and defilement.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, ASP Aminu Isaac, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on June 10 at Raliat Kolejo Street, Oreyo, Igbogbo, Ikorodu.
Isaac alleged that the defendant abducted and kept the girl for two months and had sexual intercourse with her.
He said that girl’s mother reported the case to the police and the defendant was arrested.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 268 and 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
