Nollywood faith-based film Agbara Nla: The Return has grossed over N170.6m in its first four days in cinemas, according to film distributor Nile Group.
The distributor announced the milestone on Monday, describing the performance as a major achievement for the film.
“The revival is here. The power is moving. Agbara Nla: The Return opened with N170.6m+. It can only be God,” Nile Group said.
The distributor also thanked audiences for turning up for the film, which it said recorded packed cinemas and sold-out shows.
“Thank you, everyone, for the packed cinemas, SOLD-OUT shows and incredible love,” it added.
Nile Group said the performance went beyond the box-office figures, describing the film as an opportunity for audiences to experience “a revival of faith, power and transformation on the big screen.”
The distributor also announced that the film recorded three major milestones, including the biggest non-December Nollywood opening weekend of all time, the biggest October opening weekend of all time and the biggest opening weekend ever for a faith-based film.
The film is currently showing in cinemas nationwide.
Agbara Nla: The Return had recorded about N71m from single-day preview screenings ahead of its official release.
Newsextra24 had reported that, according to Nigerian Box Office (@NGAboxoffice), a Nigerian box-office analysis and consultancy platform, the film generated N70m from 12,134 admissions during its preview period between September 25 and October 1.
The performance was reported as the biggest single-day preview gross ever recorded in West Africa.
The report also said the 12,134 admissions represented the biggest first-day admissions figure recorded in 2026, while the N70m gross was the biggest first-day gross for a Nollywood title.
The film also recorded the biggest single-day gross for October, according to the report.
During the weekend, Black Market also featured among the films showing in cinemas, while Star Lomo and Avengers: Endgame—Encore continued their theatrical runs. Spider-Man: Brand New Day was also among the titles in the cinema market.
