A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara, Alhaji Yazid Shehu-Danfulani, has donated 20 cars to its leaders and supporters in the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Shehu-Danfulani was the former State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in the state.
Speaking at the presentation of the vehicles to the beneficiaries in Gusau on Thursday, the donor said that
the gesture was aimed at supporting the party leaders and supporters in recognition of their performance towards promoting the party in the state.
“This is my personal donation to some of our party members who have been working for the development of our great party,” he said.
The chieftain appealed to the people of the state to continue to support President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of State for Defence, Alhaji Bello Matawalle in an effort to restore peace and stability in the state, NorthWest and Nigeria in general.
Shehu-Danfulani called on APC members in the state to continue to be united and remain committed towards building the party.
“As good citizen and party members, we have to maintain the spirit of unity, peace and stability for the development of the party in the state,” he urged.
The State APC Chairman, Alhaji Tukur-Umar-Danfulani, who presented the vehicles to the beneficiaries commended the donor for his contribution to the development of the APC in the state.
The chairman wsd represented by the State APC Publicity Secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris.
He said that the beneficiaries included: Ibrahim Danmalikin-GidanGoga, the Special Adviser, Political Matters Matawalle, who received a brand new Highlander Jeep.
Other beneficiaries were the former State Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Magaji-Dosara, who also received a Mercedes Benz and Murtala Garba, who received a Peugeot 307. They also include Alhaji Mande Aluta, Chairman, Zamfara State APC Reconciliation Forum), who received a Mercedes Benz and Murtala STV, who also received Peugeot 307, among others.
He said the remaining 15 vehicles were to be presented to other beneficiaries among party supporters across the state.
The chairman, who also commended Shehu- Danfulani for the invaluable gesture, described it as worthy of emulation.
He called on other political office holders under the APC to emulate him for supporting as well as encouraging the party leaders and supporters across all levels.
“This is a welcome development, having a party chieftain like Shehu-Danfulani is an indication that the APC remains the strongest political party in Zamfara.
“On behalf of the party leadership, we appreciate this kind gesture
“This is a pointer that APC will get a great victory in future elections in the state,” he added.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Danmalikin-Gidan Goga commended Shehu- Danfulani for the gesture.
“We consider this as an encouragement, we will continue to work for the progress and development of the party in the state.
“We will continue to encourage unity, peace and stability in our great party at all levels,” hebassured.
