Chief Emma Nwachukwu, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for the Anambra South Senatorial by -election has commended its peaceful conduct.
Nwachukwu also commended INEC’s processes in the election.
The APGA candidate who arrived at his Polling Unit, 002 located at Umuhu Central School at Ukpor Ward-II in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra, cast his vote at exactly 11:45a.m.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after voting, Nwachukwu said reports had shown the polls had been orderly across the zone.
“The process is well-organised, and I commend INEC and security agencies for their efforts.
“You can see that people turned out in large numbers to cast their votes because the process here in Nnewi is peaceful,” he said.
The APGA candidate expressed optimism that the outcome of the by-election would be in his favour.
“Gov. Chukwuma Soludo is making APGA proud with his outstanding performance. This is also motivating people to come out and vote.
“I am standing on his shoulders as I contest this senatorial election.
“APGA has never produced a senator in Anambra south, so I’m very optimistic that we will break the jinx this time,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that INEC fixed the election to replace late Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah, who represented the constituency.
