The political atmosphere in Ibadan was stirred on Monday following allegations that supporters were being mobilised with cash payments and Ankara fabrics ahead of the governorship declaration of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu.
Adelabu, popularly known as “Penkelemesi,” had earlier announced plans to formally declare his ambition for the 2027 Oyo State governorship election on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
