Adamawa PDP affirms Maurice Vunoboki as governorship candidate

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has adopted Chief Maurice Vunoboki as its governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections in Adamawa.

The adoption took place during the party’s congress on Sunday, in Yola.

Newsextra24 reports that Vunoboki is unanimously adopted by delegates from the 21 local government areas.

Chairman of the electoral committee, Mr Debo Ologunagba, who presided over the exercise, confirmed the adoption after a motion was moved and seconded by delegates.

Ologunagba thereafter pronounced Vunoboki as the party’s candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

According to him, the exercise was observed and supervised by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), alongside party stakeholders.

Earlier, the Acting State Chairman of the party, Mr Belmond Dogo, said the decision followed consultations among acting local government chairmen and key stakeholders.

Dogo explained that the congress was convened to formally ratify and announce Vunoboki’s emergence as the party’s governorship flag bearer for 2027.
