An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, remanded a 29-year-old man, Segun Olumade, at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl.
Olumade, who resides at Ileolowo Imude, Ojo, Lagos, is being charged with defilement.
The Prosecutor, SP Ikhayere, told the court that the defendant committed the offence in February at the above-mentioned address in Lagos.
Ikhayere said that the defendant defiled the 13-year-old girl by having carnal knowledge of her and threatening her not to revealed it to anyone
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, L. A Owolabi who did not hear the defendant’s plea, remanded the defendant at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
He ordered that the case file should be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecution for advice, and adjourned the matter until April 9.
