MINISTER of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, said that security agencies in the territory had allegedly identified a senator as one of those sponsoring the anti-government protests.
Wike disclosed this shortly after an emergency FCT Security Council meeting Thursday in Abuja.
The Minister on Thursday evening summoned an emergency security meeting, apparently to review activities of the #EndBadGovernance protesters on the first day of the nationwide protests.
Wike had earlier in the day commended the protesters for being non-violent.
However, violence was later in the day reported on Murtala Muhammed (Kubwa) Expressway, as some persons set bonfires and erected blockades.
They also extorted motorists.
