VETERAN Nigerian musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has cancelled his 67th birthday celebration.
The Fuji icon who turns 67 on March 3rd, 2024, said his birthday will not be business as usual due to the current economic hardship in the country.
In a statement released via his Instagram recently, Kwam1 explained that “there is nothing much happening in our country Nigeria to warrant me celebrating at this point in time.”
He, however, implored his “loved ones, instead of coming to celebrate, eat and drink at this time, please choose this my coming birthday celebration to help someone nearer to you.”
Newsextra24 recalls that Kwam1 recently called on President Bola Tinubu to proffer urgent solutions to the worsening economic hardship in the country while performing at a function.
He said the President needs to expedite actions to save the country from sliding into economic turmoil.
