Village head arrested for ties to bandits in Katsina

Security operatives have arrested the Village Head of Sukutum, in Kankiya Local Government Area of Katsina State for alleged links with bandits.

The traditional ruler, whose identity has not been disclosed, was picked up after intelligence reports allegedly connected him to criminal gangs terrorising the region.

Sources within the security circle claimed he provided bandits with information on the movement of security personnel and vulnerable communities, aiding their attacks.

He was also said to have regularly visited their hideouts to maintain contact and coordinate activities.

The suspect is in custody as investigations continue to determine his level of involvement and uncover other possible collaborators.
