Two Men Allegedly Receive Stolen Property, Docked

THE police in Lagos have dragged two men, Sadam Mohammed and Adewale Bamgboye, before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court, over alleged receipt of stolen property.

Mohammed, 28; and Bamgboye, 39; are standing trial before Magistrate L.K.J Layeni, on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and receiving stolen property.

They each, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor, ASP Simon Uche, told the court that the defendants committed the offence sometime in July at the Alaba International Market in Ojo.

He alleged that the defendants conspired to receive two cartons containing eight pieces of LG 10000 watts stabilizers, knowing same to be stolen items.

The stolen items are said to be owned by one Onyebuchi Ogbuefi.

The offence contravenes the provisions of sections 328 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

The court granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 each, with two sureties each in like sum, and adjourned the case until Jan. 8, 2025, for mention.
