Joint taskforce troops of Operation Hadarin Daji, North West have killed 7 armed bandits and recovered one machine gun and six motorcycles in Zamfara.
A close source disclosed to Nigerian tribune on Tuesday in Gusau that the troops deployed at forward operating Base at Wanke in Gusau local government area organised an ambush on suspected bandits route in the area.
“In an attempt to infiltrate and attack troops at Kango Sabuwal by large numbers of Armed bandits, the gallant troops of Sector 1 Operation Hadarin Daji in conjunction with troops deployed at Forward Operating Base Wanke organized an ambush operation along the route suspected to be used by the Bandits and successfully neutralized not fewer than 7 of the Armed Bandits.
It was gathered that several others fled with gunshot wounds in the late hours of 24 July 2023.
“Shortly after the encounter, troops proceeded in pursuit of other fleeing bandits, recovered 1 Machine Gun, ammunition and 6 Motorcycles from the armed bandits,” the source disclosed.
Meanwhile, the Commander Joint Task Force Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji, Major General Godwin Mutkut has commended the troops for their bravery and resilience in dealing with the Armed Bandits across the North West.
