Tinubu Mourns Shari’ah Council Scribe, Nafiu Baba-Ahmed

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has mourned the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria, SCSN, Malam Nafiu Baba-Ahmed, who died in the early hours of Tuesday.

In a condolence message on Tuesday, President Tinubu described Baba-Ahmed as a respected administrator and religious leader who served Islam and the nation meritoriously.

The President said the late SCSN scribe steered the affairs of the Council with wisdom, foresight and deep commitment to unity, justice and peaceful coexistence.

Tinubu recalled his long association with Baba-Ahmed, dating back to the build-up to the 2011 general election and his counsel and support during the 2023 presidential campaign.

He noted Baba-Ahmed’s pivotal role in sustaining the Council’s voice on national issues and promoting moral renewal and social justice.

President Tinubu commiserated with the leadership and members of the SCSN, the Baba-Ahmed family, the Government and people of Kaduna State, and the Nigerian Muslim Ummah over the loss.

He prayed Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, admit him to Jannatul Firdaus and grant the family and the Muslim Ummah the fortitude to bear the loss.

The message was conveyed in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
