The family of Sulaimon Olufemi who has been on death row for 18 years in Saudi Arabia over a mob action that resulted in the killing of a police officer is pleading for clemency, Newsextra24 reports.
Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission Abike Dabiri-Erewa said that the Nigerian government is on the case of the man. She told the family who paid the commission a visit on Wednesday in Lagos that NiDCOM was working with the Nigerian mission in Saudi Arabia, adding that the Minister of Foreign Affairs Geoffery Onyeama has been in touch with Saudi authorities on the case. According to Mrs Dabiri-Erewa, all others arrested over the incident have been released except the Nigerian. Chairman, House Committee on Diaspora Tolulope Sadipe is also involved in the case.
