SUBSIDY PALLIATIVE: Federal Lawmaker Distributes Spaghetti, Other Items In Bauchi

Cartons of spaghetti and other food items worth millions of Naira have been distributed to the people of Giade/Shira Federal Constituency in Bauchi State by the member representing the area in the House of Representatives, Honourable Sani Ibrahim Tanko, son of the immediate past Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Mohammed Tanko.

The items were distributed to the beneficiaries in all of the political wards of the Constituency.

Speaking at the flagging off of the distribution exercise held at the Shira local government secretariat in Yana town, Sani Tanko said that not less than 200,000 people in his constituency have been targeted as beneficiaries of the palliative measure.

He also said that the distribution of Spaghetti as a palliative is to alleviate the sufferings of the beneficiaries due to the high cost of living experienced in the country.

Sani Tanko further promised to come up with other empowerment initiatives in order to improve the living conditions of the people in the area.

According to him, “I want to thank Almighty Allah for giving us this opportunity to distribute 14 thousand cartoons of spaghetti to our constituents as palliative as a result of fuel subsidy removal.”

The Federal Legislator added that “As we all know, we are in a difficult situation in our country, and I have found it worthy as their representative in the House of Representatives to come up with this initiative to serve as a dividend of democracy.”

Sani Tanko, while appreciating the people of his constituency for their unflinching support for the PDP-led administration in the state, pledged to work with relevant stakeholders, including party officials, to attract investment and development opportunities to the area for economic growth and job creation.

On his part, the chairman of the distribution committee, Alhaji Yayanuwa Zainabari, said that his Committee has worked out modalities to ensure justice in the distribution exercise across all the political wards of the constituency.

Yayanuwa Zainabari applauded the federal lawmaker for his foresight to distribute the spaghetti during this period of hardship, saying such a gesture will go a long way towards improving the living conditions of the citizens.

Some of the beneficiaries commended the gesture of the Federal lawmaker, saying that the items will go a long way in alleviating their suffering and calling on other politicians to toe the same line.
