Spotify has released the second wave of exclusive performance videos from the 2026 Afro Nation Portugal Festival, featuring Nigerian music stars Wizkid, Olamide and Young Jonn.
The streaming platform said this in a statement on Tuesday in Lagos.
According to the platform, the newly released videos include Wizkid’s performance of ‘Essence’, Olamide’s ‘Wo’ and Young Jonn’s ‘Sharpally’.
It said the performances formed part of its partnership as the exclusive streaming partner of Afro Nation Portugal 2026, giving fans access to highlights from one of the world’s biggest Afrobeats festivals.
It further said that the performances, captured live at the festival in Portimão, Portugal, were available exclusively on its platform.
Spotify said the videos were housed in its dedicated Afro Nation hub, which also features festival content, artiste spotlights and exclusive performances.
The platform noted that Afrobeats continues to enjoy global growth, with artistes attracting listeners across Europe, Africa, the Americas and Asia.
It said Tyla’s music was gaining traction in markets including the United States, United Kingdom, Brazil and the Philippines, while Wizkid, Olamide and Young Jonn also continue to record strong international audience.
Content Marketing Manager for Spotify in Sub-Saharan Africa, Rifumo Mdaka, said the partnership reflected the company’s commitment to expand the global reach of African music.
“Afro Nation is the heartbeat of the culture, and we’re amplifying that pulse to every corner of the globe.
“We aren’t just hosting videos; we’re immortalising the moments that define the weekend, ensuring fans can relive the energy and connect with these iconic stories long after the lights go down,” Mdaka said.
The platform said the initiative builds on its previous Afrobeats projects, including Afrobeats: Journey of a Billion Streams, which tracks the genre’s global growth and streaming milestones.
The initiative also leverages the Afrobeats: Culture in Motion, a project documenting the evolution of the genre through a documentary, digital experience and fashion showcase.
