Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to lead Nigeria’s delegation to a three-day Nigeria-Ethiopia Nutrition Leadership Exchange Forum aimed at strengthening cooperation on nutrition delivery.
The forum, scheduled for October 7 to 9, is expected to provide a platform for both countries to exchange experiences and explore government-to-government approaches to improving nutrition outcomes.
Shettima was invited by Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Temesgen Tiruneh, who is leading the country’s multi-sectoral approach to nutrition.
The vice president is accompanied by the governors of Zamfara and Jigawa States, as well as the Ministers of Budget and economic planning and Agriculture and food security.
Also on the delegation is the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
The forum is expected to focus on strengthening institutional coordination and government-led interventions in nutrition, drawing on the experiences of both countries.
Shettima is expected to return to Abuja after the conclusion of the forum.
