Renewed Hope Network endorses Tinubu, Hamzat

A political mobilisation group, the Renewed Hope Network (RHN), on Sunday endorsed President Bola Tinubu for re-election.

The group also endorsed Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, for election as governor of the state in 2027.

The group announced the endorsements
at a prayer for Tinubu and Hamzat at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos Island.

Newsextra24 reports that  the group is led at the national level by Sen. Abdul’aziz Yari.

Its Convener is Rep. James Faleke (Ikeja Federal Constituency).

Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was at the event, described it as significant for continued development of Lagos State and the entire Nigeria.

He said that it reflected the government’s commitment to progress, good governance and the welfare of the people.

The governor recounted some of the president’s reforms in the economy, infrastructure, education, social investment and security.

He said that any votes for Tinubu and Hamzat would be for quality representation, economic stability and continuity.

Sanwo-Olu assured that his administration would continue to work for the progress of Lagos State.

“I promise that you will all enjoy the dividends of democracy.”

Faleke said that Lagos had become more united on  the candidacy of the deputy governor and the President.

According to him, the president has done  well in the past three years.

He said: “The President laid the foundation –  infrastructure foundation, economic foundation –  that ought to have been laid many years ago.”

“We are not afraid of critics, we welcome criticism if it is in the interest of Nigerians but we will not be distracted by criticism rooted in selfish interest.

“Together, we will carry this Renewed Hope Agenda to a resounding victory in 2027.”

In his remarks, former Gov.   Yahaya Bello of Kogi praised Tinubu for good leadership.

“You don’t have to come to Kogi State for campaign. l can assure you that you have our votes 100 per cent.”

Responding to the endorsements, Hamzat urged Nigerians to come out in large numbers to re-elect Tinubu in 2027.

Hamzat called on the people to support the President’s efforts in stabilising and securing Nigeria.

“President Tinubu deserves another term to consolidate on the achievements already made and to ensure continued prosperity for citizens.”

In his goodwill message, the Speaker  of Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Mudashiru Obasa, said the gathering was not only to pray, but also to reaffirm APC’s collective commitment to the future of Lagos State and the entire Nigeria.

According to him, prayer is the foundation of strength, but action is the proof of faith.

“Today, our action is clear: we stand firmly behind the re-election of our leader, President Bola Tinubu, and Dr Obafemi Kadiri Hamzat, our current Deputy Governor, as the next governor of our state.

“Re-election of the President is not just about continuity, it is also about consolidating the gains of Renewed Hope Agenda and ensuring that Nigeria remains on the path of prosperity.

“We are duty-bound to ensure that we make this happen for the future of this generation and for posterity,” he said.

Obasa described Hamzat as a loyal, capable, and dedicated servant of the people.

“His partnership in governance has strengthened Lagos, and his leadership will ensure that our state continues to shine as the heartbeat of Nigeria,” he said.

Earlier,  the RHN Director-General, Mr Oyinlomo Danmole, described it as a dynamic grassroots movement dedicated to networking at the local level.

“Our mission is to directly engage with ordinary Nigerians in their own languages, respecting their cultures and traditions, while localising the Renewed Hope Agenda in every ward, polling unit and community across the country,” he said.

NAN report that Christian and Islamic prayers were offered by Bishop Stephen Adegbite, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter, and Sheikh AbdurRahman Lawal, Amir of Nadwat-ul-Ahli Islam Society of Nigeria, respectively.

They prayed for national peace, prosperity and protection as well as divine guidance for  Lagos State and the entire Nigeria.

The event brought together APC chieftains, religious leaders, traditional rulers, youth groups, women associations, and members of grassroots organisations.
