Police To Arraign 1,019 Suspects Arrested in Lagos In Court On Monday

THE Police Command in Lagos State says no fewer than 1,019 suspects will be charged to court on Monday for various offences.
The command’s Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Sunday.

Hundeyin said that the suspects were arrested between 1.15 p.m. on April 8 and 12.50 p.m. on April 14 during massive raids of black spots in the state.

He said that they would be charged for various crimes, including possession of arms and ammunition, traffic robbery, assault on members of the public and possession of illicit drugs, amongst others.

The spokesperson said that the operatives would continue the raid in different parts of the state, warning that all criminally-minded persons should avoid coming to Lagos or relocate if they were already in the state.

He commended the members of the public for the timely information given to the police about the activities of those arrested, calling for more of such information. (NAN)
