Over 50 Feared Dead in North Macedonia Nightclub Fire

A massive fire at the Pulse nightclub in Kocani, North Macedonia, has reportedly claimed the lives of at least 50 people.

The blaze erupted in the early hours of Sunday, with thick smoke and flames engulfing the venue.

According to reports from the state news agency, citing the interior ministry, the fire broke out during a live performance by ADN, a popular hip-hop duo.

The nightclub was packed with around 1,500 attendees, and many are feared to have been caught in the flames.

Videos circulating on social media show the nightclub ablaze, with people scrambling to escape.

Preliminary accounts suggest that pyrotechnic effects used during the performance may have triggered the fire.

Footage appears to show sparks from the stage setting the ceiling alight, causing flames to spread rapidly.

While local media have reported a possible death toll of 50, authorities have yet to confirm the exact number of casualties.

Emergency services worked for hours to control the blaze, and a full investigation into the cause of the fire is expected.

Kocani, located around 100 km east of the capital Skopje, is now grappling with one of the deadliest nightclub fires in the country’s history.
