Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has reshuffled his cabinet following the resignation of two commissioners to pursue their political ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Newsextra24 reports that the Oborevwori made this known on Friday, in a statement issued by the State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, in Asaba.
According to the statement, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, Princess Pat Ajudua, is to oversee the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development.
The statement read, “The Commissioner for Housing, Mr Godknows Angele, is to supervise the Ministry of Youth Development with immediate effect.”
The Governor said the development became necessary following the resignations of the former commissioner for humanitarian affairs, community support services and girl child development, Orode Uduaghan, and the commissioner for youth development, ThankGod Trakiriowei.
He stated, “They resigned to pursue their political ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections. The former commissioners stepped down to contest for seats in the Delta State House of Assembly.”
While appreciating the former commissioners for their patriotic services to the state, Governor Oborevwori wishes them success in their future endeavours.
He added that the new supervisory arrangements take effect with immediate effect, pending further announcements.
