NPFL Fines Enyimba For Misconduct, Suspends Official

Enyimba announce exit of 11 players ahead new season - Daily Post Nigeria

ENYIMBA have been fined N2m by the Nigeria Premier Football League for failing to provide adequate security during their matchday 15 fixture against Rangers.

The NPFL also ruled that the Aba giants’ failure to provide effective security led to unauthorised persons gaining access to match officials’ dressing room, which is a restricted area.

The title holders’ officials also intimidated and harassed referees during the course of the game.

Enyimba official, Okey Nwabeke, is suspended from all NPFL activities for the next three match weeks for inciting & unsporting conduct.

Enyimba face the risk of heavier sanctions in future if the club & any of their officials are involved in similar misconduct.

The Aba-based club has within 48 hours of the date of notice to appeal the sanctions.
