NOLLYWOOD Actor, director, and film executive, Seyi Akinsola has announced the passing of his mother, Nee Akinsola (Iya Alaso), who rested in the lord at the late hours of Thursday, 5th December 2024.
Seyi, whose recent movie OGBEDUN has been showing on the Nigerian Cinema since November 29, has been in shock over the demise of his mother.
In a statement on his official Facebook page, Seyi Akinsola wrote:
“With heavy hearts but gratitude to God for a life well-lived, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother. Mama went to be with the Lord last night about 8pm. Mama lived a remarkable 94 years, filled with faith, love, and service to God and humanity”
“Mama was a devout Christian whose unwavering faith inspired everyone around her. Her life was a testament to God’s grace and the power of kindness, wisdom, and humility. She touched many lives with her compassion, her words of encouragement, and her prayers”
“Mama leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew her. Though we mourn her passing, we rejoice in the knowledge that she has found eternal rest in the presence of the Lord she served so faithfully.”
He also wish to inform the general public that Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course as we come together to celebrate Mama’s incredible journey and honour her life.
Rest in perfect peace, Maami. You will forever be in my hearts.
Seyi Akinsola was recently at the Ace Cinema, Ibadan to cheer viewers of OGEBDUN and hope to return with another blockbuster Epic/contemporary movie next year.
