Nigerian Born Striker Wins Sky Bet Championship Player Of The Season

MIDDLESBROUGH forward, Chuba Akpom has scooped the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Season award.

Akpom was recognised for his impressive goal-scoring exploits for Boro this season.

The 27-year old has scored 28 goals and provided two assists in 36 matches so far this season.

The Nigeria-born forward is also in line to become the first Middlesbrough player to scoop the Golden Boot since John Hickton bagged 25 goals during the 1970/71 season.

It’s been a remarkable campaign for Akpom, who started the season without a squad number and sent to train with the U-21s.

Middlesbrough are also in the hunt for promotion to the Premier League.
