Nigerian Army Reacts Over Fraudulent Online Recruitment Portal

AN alert has been raised by the Nigerian Army regarding the dissemination of false information online, specifically associated with the Nigerian Army Direct Short Service (DSS) Recruitment Portal for the year 2023.

In a statement issued on NA’s X account, @HQNigeriaArmy, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, refuted the authenticity of the alleged recruitment portal.

“The Nigerian Army (NA) has observed the rapid spread of misleading online recruitment information, particularly concerning the Nigerian Army Direct Short Service (DSS) Recruitment Portal for the year 2023.

“The NA wants to clarify that the misleading online publication is a deliberate attempt at fraud by some unscrupulous individuals to deceive the public.

“Considering the potential harm that this misleading online publication could cause to potential candidates and the general public, it is important to emphasize that the fraudulent online Direct Short Service Portal 2023 is a scam and should be completely avoided.

“The NA is taking steps to apprehend those responsible for the fraudulent portal. Therefore, the public is encouraged to report any suspicious recruitment portal or activities to the NA,” the statement emphasized.

The statement further affirmed the Nigerian Army’s dedication to upholding a transparent and credible recruitment process. It also highlighted the official channels for recruitment information, including the Nigerian Army’s official website (https://army.mil.ng) and verified social media platforms such as Twitter (@HQNigerianArmy), Facebook (HQ Nigerian Army), and Instagram (HQNigerianArmy).

Nwachukwu urged the public to rely exclusively on these authorized channels for accurate and current information. Prospective candidates and the general public were advised to take the refutal seriously and exercise caution when seeking information related to the Nigerian Army’s recruitment processes.
