Nigeria Immigration Arrest 30 Illegal Migrants In Ogun

Nigeria Immigration Service Commences Clearance of Backlog of Passport Applications

NO fewer than thirty (30) young illegal migrants have been apprehended and paraded by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Ogun State Command.

In a statement released on Wednesday, November 1, the State Comptroller of NIS, Abosede Olayemisi, said the illegal migrants from Benin and Congo were also found to be involved in fraudulent activities against their fellow migrants.

The arrests, she said, were made in Abeokuta, where the illegal migrants were deceiving their fellow nationals with false promises of non-existent businesses.

“They are 30 in number. We apprehended them at their office, where they gathered and were doing illicit business. They are defrauding fellow foreign nationals by bringing them in and collecting money from them. They promised them employment in Nigeria.

“After taking money from them, they threw them to the streets. The next thing is to repatriate them to their home countries,” Olayemisi noted in the terse statement.
