Lagos-Ibadan: Oyo, Ogun Police deploy Personnel Over Kidnappings

The Oyo and Ogun states Police Commands have deployed tactical teams on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway over the recent incessant kidnappings on the road.

 

The development is followed by the commands’ move to restructure and remodel their security architecture.

 

According to a statement by the spokesperson for Oyo State Police Command, SP Adewale Osifeso, on Thursday, the command will leave no stone unturned in ridding the state and its environs of undesirable criminal elements.

 

“The Oyo State Police Command under the able leadership of CP Adebowale Williams has reaffirmed its commitment to leave no stone unturned in ridding the state and its surrounding environs of undesirable criminal elements.

 

“Today, Thursday, November 10, 2022, in the company of his Ogun State Counterpart, CP Lanre Bankole, and in a bid to proactively forestall future criminal occurrence along the highway, both Commissioners embarked on a strategic assessment patrol and eventual deployment of assets around areas concerned.

“In addition, private and public users of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway are encouraged to go about their day-to-day activities without any form of fear of molestation or harassment from unscrupulous elements as adequate security measures in its topmost capacity are on ground.

“While cooperation with the Police in exchange of credible and timely information is encouraged, the CP enjoins the good people of Oyo State to eschew crime and criminality at all times,” the statement added.

Osifeso, therefore, urged the public to always reach out to the command in cases of emergency through their control room numbers (07055495413 and 08081768614), adding, “the police rescue me app is also available for free download on both Android and Apple iOS, for Android and iPhone users respectively.”
