THE Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Edo State Command, Mr Martins Monyei, has confirmed that the woman who purportedly tore her husband’s passport on arrival at the Nigeria Airport, Lagos, was only creating content that the husband’s passport, her passport and that of her two children are intact.
Monyei made the clarification during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, led by its chairman, Comrade Festus Alenkhe.
He said, “It was a talk of war for us because the information came from our headquarters; they were trailing her. They once said she was from Benin City, Edo State. So l sent my men to lay surveillance. Before we knew it, she had crossed to Agbor in Delta State. Eventually, we cracked her at Agbor, and we kept her in safe custody. It was just yesterday that we flew her to Abuja.
“Honestly, it was like a comedy. She said she was creating content and that her husband’s passport was intact. She presented her husband’s passport, her own and her two kids. She said she never torn any passport, emphasizing her claim of ‘creating content ‘; she even put it into writing.
