High Court Summons Yahaya Bello for Criminal Breach of Trust

THE Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja, has issued a summons to Yahaya Bello of 9, Benghazi Street, Wuse Zone 4, Abuja, following criminal charges brought by the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The case, under the jurisdiction of Hon. Justice Maryann E. Anenih, involves serious allegations, including Criminal Breach of Trust and the possession of unlawfully acquired property.

The charges pertain to acts allegedly committed by Bello between 2016 and 2023.

According to court documents, Bello is accused of violating Section 311 of the Penal Code Law, Cap. 89, Laws of Northern Nigeria 1963, which outlines the offense of Criminal Breach of Trust.

He also faces charges under Section 319A of the same law for possessing property suspected to have been unlawfully obtained.

Bello has been summoned to appear before the Federal Capital Territory High Court (Court No. 3) in Maitama on November 14, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. to answer the charges.

Failure to comply with the summons may result in additional legal consequences.

The case will be presided over by Hon. Justice Maryann E. Anenih, who is set to oversee the proceedings on the scheduled date.
