‘Half Of His Property’ – Reactions To Hakimi Divorce Controversy

By Fikayo Oyewole

PSG Star Achraf Hakimi, 24, reportedly has a net worth of approximately $24 million, but it is said that 80% of his salary goes straight to his mother’s bank account. The footballer married his wife, Hiba Abouk, in 2020, and they have two sons named Amin and Naim. Abouk did not support Hakimi during his sexual assault allegations, which he denies and claims that the woman is attempting to blackmail him.

Since Hakimi doesn’t own any properties under his name, some social media users are questioning whether he is entitled to half of Abouk’s fortune. However, it is unlikely that the PSG star will request to take any money from the mother of his children. Currently, there are no reports indicating that the court will order Abouk to relinquish any funds, including legal fees for Hakimi.

While this remains a developing story, here are more reactions to Hakimi divorce controversy:

Victoria Aka: Mimicrahyor Noted that:

He might have his reasons for doing that because I believe he started earning at a very young age which his mom can helped him with it due to some factors and that is still permissible.  But I believe he can get to a point in his life to do whatever pleases him with his money and family and have a change of thought in getting his wife involve. If he wasn’t pleased to get his wife involve that means he has been seeing some red flags or have a doubt about her – that she’s  just a money eater and it is so evident that she is. Because how would you requested for half of his property all in the name of divorce which you are not even part of his success story, or invested in him, you just showed up to claim what you didn’t invest on. If she has contributed to his career they would have owned something together in both names and If truly she really wants to have a home with him, she would have known that all his assets were in his mothers name and not his if only you’ve engaged him with a reasonable convo.

Another reaction from Adebayo a.k.a The crown;

My take on this is simple, what Hakimi did is wrong, the wife is also an opportunist. Why demand for half of his property when you can as well work. As for Hakimi he should go ahead and marry his mother since he can’t trust his wife. What’s the point of being married to someone you don’t trust?

Another reaction from Folusho a.k.a bigflu;

If you and your wife worked together to build wealth, then what Hakimi did is unfair and it violates every principle or trust in marriage.

Popular Nigeria Influencers have also reacted to this developing story;

Peter Okoye the Nigerian Singer also reacted noting that;

#MyOwnViewsAndOpinion I don’t understand why most men are rejoicing over this Hakimi story? Like I don’t get it. The truth is bitter but needs to be told. If you don’t trust her then don’t marry as simple as that. Or are you expecting your wife to suffer after divorce?” he wrote’

Nedu, an on Air personality also reacted noting that;

“I no know if una don see that video or the message or the pictures of that PSG footballer wey them dey call Hakimi wey e be say him be 24-year-old and his wife dey ask for divorce. And the divorce wey she dey ask for, she dey talk say 50 percent of wettin the guy get make them give her.

“You see say marriage don die? In fact, if people believe anything for marriage before, the thing wey dey go on now with marriage for inside the whole world, people no want enter marriage again. Na most women, some of una, na e dey make some people no want enter marriage because una don turn the thing to poverty alleviation scheme.” he wrote.
