THE Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State has been shaken by the tragic killing of a prominent businessman, Linus Nmuo, who was also known as Sakatan. The ruthless attack took place in his home in Umuezikegbu, Egbuoma community, during the early hours of the day.
According to a family member who wishes to remain anonymous, the assailants forcefully entered Nmuo’s residence and dragged him out. He was then shot multiple times, ensuring his untimely demise before the perpetrators fled the scene.
This recent incident adds to the string of violent acts in the area. Prior to this, a Divisional Police Officer of the Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, another law enforcement officer, and a civilian fell victim to deadly gunfire. Additionally, the traditional ruler of Otulu community in the Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA, Eze Joe Achulor, was also fatally attacked. Furthermore, the ward chairman of the People Democratic Party in the Ife/Akpodim/Chokoneze ward in the Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA, Chiedoziem Anyanwu, suffered a tragic fate in the presence of his wife.
These continuous acts of violence have sparked a wave of fear and concern within the community.
