Alex Kueng (pronounced king), one of the ex police officers accused of abetting murder in the death of George Floyd, is an African-American. Specifically, he has a part Nigerian ancestry – his father was Nigerian and his mother is a Caucasian American.
He had recently enlisted to be a cop, much to the disagreement of his family, to, according to him, ”try to change the bad policing system” in Minneapolis. Alas, only 3 days on the job, he was caught up in that system and now potentially faces 40 years in jail if convicted. His two siblings, who are adopted Blacks, have indicated to change their last name to dissociate with the “Keung” family name.
