All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant Funke Adesiyan, has formally withdrawn from the contest for the Ibadan South East/North East Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 elections.
In a letter dated 24th April 2026 and addressed to the Chairman of the APC in Ibadan South East Local Government, Adesiyan said her decision followed “careful reflections and high-level consultations.”
She described the withdrawal as “personal, deliberate, and guided by a clear assessment of the broader political landscape,” adding that it aligns with her commitment to long-term value, credibility, and purposeful public service.
Adesiyan expressed gratitude to supporters and stakeholders for the confidence and encouragement she received throughout her political engagement.
“At this time, I consider it more important to step back with clarity and focus, while continuing to contribute meaningfully to the progress and development of our people through other strategic avenues,” she stated.
The former aspirant reaffirmed her dedication to the advancement of Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
Her withdrawal is expected to reshape early political calculations within the APC ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle in Oyo State.
