Rosalynn Carter passed away at the age of 96 at her home in Plains, Georgia, surrounded by her family.
The news of her death was confirmed by the Carter Center, the non-profit organization founded by the couple, in a statement released on Sunday at 2:10 pm.
Rosalynn Carter, renowned for her advocacy for mental health, caregiving, and women’s rights, peacefully passed away, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and dedication. “Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, a passionate champion of mental health, caregiving, and women’s rights, passed away Sunday, Nov. 19, at 2:10 p.m. at her home in Plains, Georgia, at the age of 96. She died peacefully, with family by her side,” the Carter Center stated.
