The English Premier League has announced three major transparency measures for the upcoming season, aiming to provide supporters with unprecedented clarity surrounding match officiating and VAR decisions.
Under the new updates, the league will publish near-live explanations and direct quotes from match officials on the Premier League Match Centre account, release selected RefCam audio from on-field referee-player conversations, and publicly share weekly findings from the Key Match Incidents (KMI) Panel for the first time.
While IFAB restrictions currently prevent live VAR audio broadcasts during matches, these moves mark a significant step toward open communication and greater accountability across English top-flight football.
