AN operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) took his own life on Monday in his residence in Abuja.
A report by PRNigeria said that the deceased, a member of Course 5, was described as diligent, efficient, and unassuming.
According to tbe report: “The Commission is exploring possible factors, including mental health and family challenges, that may have contributed to the operative’s depression and tragic decision.”
When contacted on the incident, the EFCC spokesperson, Mr. Dele Oyewale said that an investigation was underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the suicide.
The EFCC has yet to release the operative’s name.
The incident has reportedly sent shockwaves through the organization,.
